Ugly Betty

MURDER! Sex changes, poison, cut brakes, corporate takeovers, drugs, SEX, love triangles, back stabbings, hit men, SEX, scandals, prison breaks, car crashes, SEX, hidden room love dungeons, gays, swag, SEX, alliances, theft, faked deaths, deportation, SEX, underwear models, stolen sperm, fire, prostitutes, SEX, office politics, lust, strippers, fashions, computer virus', beards, secret diary, and death!!! Oh and more SEX. These are just some of the plot elements of the first two seasons of Ugly Betty. Emmy and Golden globe winner America Ferrera plays Ugly Betty Suarez, an aspiring magazine writer with no experience who lands an assistant job to the Editor in Chief, Daniel Meade, for Mode magazine. The only problem is---she only got the job because she's ugly and that way her womanizing himbo playboy boss Daniel won't be tempted to sleep with her and might get some work done. Daniel only became Editor because his dad owns the publishing company. And evil Wilhelmina Slater wants to make Daniel look like a fool, ruin his career and take over Mode for herself. Betty is a fish out of water stuck between her normal home life in Queens and the chance to use this magazine job to become a writer---but at what cost? As she soon discovers that Mode has more skeletons than fashions in it's closet.---With affairs that end in murder. No one can be trusted, everyone has an agenda and wants to move up the ladder and they are willing to go to extreme lengths to do it. Money, fashion and fame are more important. Which places Betty in moral dilemmas repeatedly. This show has everything you could want in over the top drama, comedy and heart. And did I mention the sex and parade of manly studs that go in and out of the show? If you haven't been watching I suggest you go get the DVDs and catch up.
Her strange office life is offset by her home life with her family in Queens. Although it can be a circus too.
Betty's job puts her into situations she never thought she'd be in...like hiding under the bed while people have sex...
...or visiting the male strip club... ...and many times forces her to chose between keeping her job or doing the right thing.
Which isn't always easy.
This show has a great cast of supporting players playing Betty's sweet family, the villains, love interests and other hotties...
Himbo Editor in Chief Daniel Meade is played to shirtless perfection by Eric Maibius...
with constant bed hopping...
....yum!
Rebecca Romijn, who was so fantastic as Mystique in the X-men movies plays the equally intense Alexis. A regular thorn in Betty and Daniel's side...
She gets in on the bedroom action too...
