"Don't ask, Don't tell" has been repealed. Gay American soldiers can now serve openly...

Finally! Gay men and women, and gay soldiers have been a part of America since the very beginning. Serving in the Revolutionary War, Civil War, World War I, World War II---all the way to our present day military. They have always been there but, not always serving openly. The Repeal of "Don't ask, Don't tell" by vote yesterday, means the end of this outdated policy, and a new beginning for gays in the U.S. military. I hope within time our military barracks will look more like these two shots below of an openly serving soldier in the British military. He's well respected by his fellow soldiers, free to express himself, well liked and able to perform his duties without restriction or fear of dismissal. In short---he's been living a dream that most gays in the American military could only wish and fight for. And now may be able to reach.
...as a nation we're moving forward. There are more civil rights battles to fight but, we will eventually succeed. So here's a salute to our soldier boys here and around the world...
