Bookworm

The late great actor/director/photographer, Roddy McDowell as the Batman-made-for-tv-villain, the Bookworm.
The 1960's Batman TV show had several villains that were invented for the show...
...And Roddy was great as the super intelligent Bookworm. But Roddy was great at any role. From a child actor star of the original "Lassie" movies, to adult roles in all the original "Planet of the Apes" films, roles in Cleopatra, the Poseidon Adventure, Agatha Christie's Evil under the Sun, Fright Night, and even guest roles on TV shows like Buck Rogers, Wonder Woman and countless others. And of course on Batman as Bookworm. Roddy was well liked by other Hollywood stars, and had life long friendships with them. They say his best quality was that if you told him a secret, he never told it to anyone else. He kept it for life. And they also did the same for him. Not much is known about his private life but others have suggested he was gay but closeted by Hollywood. But again, his friendships were so close that, you won't find many who will talk about his private life. In later years he released several photo books of behind the scenes photos he took on his films and private photos of his fellow Hollywood friends. The photos captured stars like Elizabeth Taylor and others being playful and relaxed in front of his camera in ways that they could never be for just any photographer---the could be themselves because Roddy was behind the lens. Anyway, I always enjoy any movie or show that Roddy is in. He always brings something to his roles.

Nothing beats a sexy smartie...so this post is for Roddy and all the bookworms out there.
