Robin, the Boy Wonder!...

...or what the show was actually known as--- "Batman". Why oh WHY is this tv series not out on dvd yet? How long must I wait!? Seriously, if you work at Warner Bros you must get them on to it pronto. I loved this show. It would come and go in reruns over the years and has been seen less and less. But it was fantastic and still is. As a kid, I was only interested in the action-crime-fighting-fun of seeing Batman, Robin and Batgirl brought to life. I knew some parts of the show were silly but, I didn't care. As an adult, the show went to a whole new level as I got all the humor that went over my head as a kid. With the amazing over the top villains, and Julie Newmar as Catwoman (Eartha Kitt was purrrr-fect too). Plus Batman and Robin were very easy on the eyes. And let's not forget the male bonding between Bruce and Dick with their days filled with the easy lives of playboys, long nights alone sliding down their poles to the Batcave---Aunt Harriot always wondering what those two were up to. Only Alfred knew what was really going on wink wink. Lol!

Have some Pride!

Pride

Hey there!
Yes, I've been a bad blogger---I haven't finished any of my new hero art yet. Why? Well, for all the usual reasons and the show. Which will be over at months end. So, far it's been hit and miss, a great way to make some connections but I don't know if it will lead to a career change. We'll see. But it eats up time going to and fro, and volunteering there. But it's almost over.
Another reason for my lack of anything new is that it's summer and I'm trying to get out and enjoy. Like going to DC Pride last week. It was very fun. Usually at this event you just get attacked by all the different gay rights groups asking to join the cause or for donations---but this year, they were much more relaxed about it--and I think that worked better. We also had a family area where the families with kids could hang out together, and non-family areas with hot guys in dunking booths. And the musical guests this year were very good. With the Pride show closers being Martha Wash (of "it's raining men" and "Come on let's sweat" fame) and the diverse yet complex talents of RuPaul. Who was wonderful--I'm a big fan. And I like any good gay was right there front and center snapping pictures for you to enjoy. So if you haven't been to Pride in your area, I suggest you go and have some fun. And if you don't have one or missed yours, try to hang out with your boys/girls and celebrate one of your own. I'll have more for you guys sooner than later.

Hey peeps, long time no blog!
I've been swamped lately at work and home with not much time for anything else. No social life even---my friends are pissed. Why? Because if I'm not doing overtime for work then I've been creating new non-hero pieces for this upcoming show. Which is almost here. It's been more prep work into this show than I thought there would be (with final touches still to do) but I'm hoping it will all be worth it.
Either way it's been a great learning experience and has pushed me to be more creative in my artwork. I'm not sure if ANY of my hero pieces will go in the show or not but, I did some tweaking to the old ones by adding splashes of color in hopes to make them more interesting, if I do. Have a look yourself and see what you think.
I'm looking forward to everything being done soon, and then just enjoying the show itself and then getting back hero art, friends and enjoying the summer while I can. :)
Thanks everybody!

Skeletor!!!

Evil master of the universe, Skeletor. I used body and various head shots of designer/blogger David Mason to get this piece. Dave is always a good model, check out his fun blog "House of Vader" in the side bar. Sorry the wait has been so long between pieces, but I think it was worth it. I'll have more later. What do you guys think about this second "Masters..." piece? Should I do more in this series? Thanks.
